First Day of School
I am so much excited because my daughter finally
goes to school today. She takes a pre-school class in KB Biyung Emban, Kelurahan
Blitar. My husband and I agreed that we would bring our daughter to school on
age three years old. Thus, we prepared much, he prepared for the cost, meanwhile
me, Zoya’s mom prepared for searching some information about some schools
around us, the registration, the requirements, the contract of learning, the
curriculum, the teachers, the school stationery, lunch box, snacks, books, and
so on. Finally, the decision came to Kelompok Belajar Biyung Emban.
All the students’ parents were met on a
first meeting of MoU study during one year yesterday. Surprisingly, I was
chosen as the chief of Paguyuban. I absolutely did not expect that situation.
However, the teacher designated me, then followed by other parents who came at
that time. Thus, by reciting basmalah, I said it is fine, as long as we take
the roles together.
I was asked to decide the charges for school’s
necessary out of tuition fees in front of all moms at that time. Then,
absolutely, to make sure that the cost we submit was suitable with the needs,
we discussed first to the teachers about the cashflow. One child spends around IDR
400K. Because we have savings about IDR 120K a year, then the money we need to
collect is around IDR 23.3K per month. To make it simple, we made a deal to
have extra IDR 25K as the charge to purchase for Paguyuban each month in a
year. In total, with tuition fees, a child needs IDR 65K to purchase each
month. It is worth nominal to pay. As parents, absolutely we expect the best
for our children. Hopefully, all parents have sufficient cash to cost the
children’s school.
Today, I reminded the parents in Paguyuban
group of WA, about some stuffs to bring on the first day of school. In one
week, Zoya and friends go to school at 7.30 am., and go back home at 9.00 am. The
following weeks, they are going back home at 9.30 am. The clothes she wears are
free, as long as polite and tidy. The school also asks the students to bring
some snacks and water to drink. Besides, the teachers made a policy that the parents
should not accompany the students to teach them become independent children.
The ones who need to accompany are only for one month. The next months should be
left.
I am extra amazed because my daughter
finally goes to school. She is three years old which means, she is growing well,
alhamdulillah. A mother, might be in a dilemma situation. On one side, a mother
wants to see her child grows well, but on the other side, a mother misses all
the mess of their new born baby who becomes a toddler, not a baby anymore. However,
life goes on. As parents, we must expect and do our best for our children’s school,
study, which next will influence their life. May Allah ease all our children’s
matters later.
